After George W. Bush destroyed the American economy and plunged us into a war that we can hardly say is over… all his enablers simply moved on to new, higher paying jobs. Unfortunately, Obama, eager to move on and unify the country avoided cutting out that cancer. And this taught all the enablers that they can do the worst and they’ll never have to pay the price, setting the stage for 2016.
Let’s not forgive and forget so easily this time. Instead, let’s create checks and balances to restore and codify accepted norms of decency, oversight, and accountability. Otherwise, we’ll just be letting in those ‘same old foxes’ back into the hen house – and reality denying Trumpism will live on.
